Route NY 400 @ NY 16 Traffic Calming – New Project

Overview

The Greater Buffalo-Niagara Regional Transportation Council (GBNRTC), the Metropolitan Planning Organization for Erie and Niagara Counties, is proposing to amend the 2017-2021 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) by adding one (1) new project.

  • PIN 5392.46 Route NY 400 @ NY 16 Traffic Calming

Traffic calming measures will be investigated to reduce expressway character at the intersection. Such measures may include but not be limited to pavement removal, turn lane, raised median, or other measures to calm traffic at this intersection. The project objective is to make intersection improvements to decrease identified collisions and improve intersection safety and operation using cost effective collision reduction measures.

A total amount of $0.864M in Federal Funding is needed for all phases for PIN 539246. NY State will contribute the 10% match. Offset is provided by PIN 5T1640 (Highway Safety Improvement Program [HSIP] State Road Program).
