Public comments will be received through June 26, 2019

Overview

The Greater Buffalo-Niagara Regional Transportation Council (GBNRTC), the Metropolitan Planning Organization for Erie and Niagara Counties, is proposing to amend the 2017-2021 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) by adding one (1) new project.

Project Identification Number TWSW19 - Pavement Striping

The NYS Thruway Buffalo Division will complete pavement striping maintenance work on the I-90 and I-190.

Existing pavement markings on the listed route segments are in need of maintenance due to damage, wear and reduced visibility.

This project will apply durable (epoxy) paint to maintain the existing pavement markings on route segments in Madison, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, Ontario, Genesee, Erie, Chautauqua and Niagara counties. Durable pavement markings consisting of epoxy paint will be installed to maintain traffic control and increase safety. General locations are listed in the attached tables. A listing of included route segments is included in the attached design report.

Total project cost (federal share) is $0.568M.

$0.568M of Statewide NHPP funds will fund the project. As these are new funds to the region, fiscal constraint is maintained.
