The primary purpose of the certification review is to ensure that the required planning activities of 23 USC 134 and 49 USC 5303 are being satisfactorily implemented by the GBNRTC. This meeting will be your opportunity to talk directly with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) concerning your views on the transportation planning process in the GBNRTC area.

The GBNRTC is the designated MPO responsible for transportation planning in Buffalo-Niagara Metropolitan Area in the Erie and Niagara Counties.

The FHWA and the FTA, in accordance with 23 USC 134(k)(5)(A)(i) and 49 USC 5303(k)(5)(A)(i)(e) must certify compliance with these regulations by MPOs not less than once every four years.
