  • What happens to the batteries in an EV at the end of the vehicle’s life?

    • Most AEVs and PHEVs use lithium-ion batteries. Theoretically, the components within a battery are almost entirely recyclable, and ongoing research is aimed at reducing battery waste. However, outside of recycling, many batteries at the end of a vehicle's life can still be used in other applications, such as stationary energy storage systems.
