New Project
The Greater Buffalo-Niagara Regional Transportation Council (GBNRTC) is the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Erie and Niagara Counties.
NYSDOT has proposed the addition of one (1) new project to the FFY 26-30 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).
This new project will address repairs not addressed in the previous State Aid culvert project. It is being progressed as a separate project as the Federal funding was added after design approval, and the State funded project had not addressed NEPA, so the project would have been substantially delayed (especially as a scope change might have necessitated a restart on the joint Army Corps/DEC permit.). Action will move all (unobligated) Federal funding from PIN 5763.86 to create the new project
Total project cost is $2.039M. Fiscal Constraint maintained as $2.039M of matched federal funds will be transferred from PIN 5763.86 Aurora St - Central Ave/Plum Bottom Creek. PIN 5763.86 will remain on the STIP as a state-funded (PIT Bond) project.
Anticipated let (obligation) will be 5/15/28.
Proposed Transportation Conformity exemption: A19 - Widening narrow pavements or reconstructing bridges (no additional travel lanes).
Public comments will be received for 30 days from 4/16/26 until Close of Business (COB) on 5/15/26.
